    All Southern Federation of Fire Fighters State & Local Affiliate Officers:

    In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Southern Federation of Professional Firefighters I am sending this correspondence in regard to your annual membership and the Annual SFPFF Conference.

    “All Affiliated States and Locals and Associate Members shall pay one dollar ($1.00) per member per year up to one hundred members, but not less than thirty-five dollars ($35) per year for affiliation to the Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters.” Forms have been attached to assist you in the remittance of your dues and conference registration.

    Further, this conference will be held in accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws of the Southern Federation of Professional Firefighters. In accordance with the Constitution and By-Laws please be aware of the following:

    CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS

    All resolutions, submitted by affiliates for consideration at the Conference, shall be received by the Secretary/Treasurer at least thirty (30) days prior to the Conference, and shall be sent to all State and Local affiliates fifteen (15) days prior to the annual Conference of the Federation by the Secretary-Treasurer.  The only exception to this article shall be resolutions to amend the Consti­tution and By-Laws, submitted by the Constitution and By-Laws Committee.

                LATE RESOLUTIONS

    Late resolutions must be received by 5 PM on the day prior to the start of the Conference, provided the following conditions are met; the affiliated individual or affiliated organization submitting the Late Resolution shall provide the President with sufficient copies for each registered delegate.  The resolution must be accepted by 2/3 majority vote of the delegation present and voting.

    AMENDMENTS

    Amendments to the Constitution and By-Laws of the Federation shall be approved by 2/3 majority vote of the delegates present and voting at the Annual Conference, in accordance with the IAFF Constitution and By-Laws.

    On behalf of the Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters, I would like to personally invite you to attend the Southern Federation of Professional Fire Fighters annual conference in Lexington, KY this coming April. It is our hope you will be able to attend and address our delegation.

    Many activities have been planned by our host, the Lexington Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 526.  The Southern Fed Executive Board and Committees will meet on Sunday, April 14, 2019.  The IAFF Committee on Assistance to Non-Collective Bargaining States will meet on Monday morning at 10:00 a.m.  There will be an IAFF Educational Seminar on Monday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.  The General Session is set to start on Tuesday morning at 9:00 a.m. with business concluding Wednesday afternoon. There will be several hospitality events Monday through Wednesday evenings and there will be plenty of networking through the conference.  After the close of business Wednesday there will be a hospitality event at the Keeneland Horse Track. 

    The SFPFF will hold our annual Conference, Monday, Tuseday, and Wednesday, April 15-17, 2019. This conference will be hosted by the Lexington Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local 526. We have secured a room block with affordable options at the Hyatt Regency located in Downtown Lexington.
